METAR Sync
One person sets a METAR on a web form, and everyone flying in the event gets that exact weather in their simulator within a second.
It’s for people flying together, in a virtual airline or a training session, where everyone is supposed to be in the same sky.

What it takes
For whoever’s running the event
A password-gated web page with a single box on it. Paste in a METAR, send it, and that becomes the weather for everyone connected. Change it mid-flight and the change follows.
For everyone flying
A desktop app for macOS and Windows, running alongside the simulator. It picks up each new METAR and applies it, and re-applies it whenever a sim connects, so joining late still puts you in the right weather. X-Plane needs nothing else installed; MSFS needs an add-on package.

X-Plane 11 and 12
Working
Wind, visibility, cloud layers, temperature and pressure, with no plugin to install. Cloud layers can take about a minute to redraw in X-Plane 12 after a change.
MSFS 2020 and 2024
New, still being tested
This is newer, and the limits come from the simulator itself: wind is capped at 150 kt, one set of conditions applies worldwide rather than per airport, and visibility can’t be set in MSFS 2024 yet.
